Every EFTOM piece is built on 925 sterling silver and set with moissanite or cubic zirconia — engineered gemstones in their own right, not stand-ins for a diamond, and not the lab-grown diamonds you've been seeing more of lately. The Sterling Silver Foundation
Every piece starts with a base of 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver alloyed for strength, the same standard used across fine jewelry worldwide. It's nickel-tested, weighty in the hand, and holds its shine with basic care.
For our gold-tone pieces, we apply a layer of gold plating over that sterling silver base. It gives you the warmth and color of gold with the strength of sterling silver underneath — a finish made for how you actually get dressed: stacked, mixed with silver, changed up from one look to the next, without a second thought.
Moissanite & Cubic Zirconia
Moissanite and cubic zirconia are engineered gemstones — grown and cut under controlled conditions rather than mined from the earth. They're not lab-grown diamonds, and they're not trying to be: each is a stone in its own right, with its own balance of fire, hardness, and price.

Is moissanite a real diamond?
No — moissanite is its own gemstone, not a lab-grown diamond and not a diamond simulant pretending otherwise. It's prized for its own fire and hardness.
Will it turn my skin green?
Our sterling silver base is nickel-tested, which is what causes most reactions. As with any plated piece, keeping it dry and following our care guide extends how long the finish lasts.
What does "gold plated" mean?
It means a layer of gold is applied over our sterling silver base — not solid gold underneath, but sterling silver wearing gold's color and warmth. It's the finish built for everyday styling: easy to stack, easy to mix with silver, easy to change up whenever the mood strikes.
